Subject: 21571/Appropriation/Eco-IndustrialSMARTParkFeasibilityStudy Date: Fri, 26 Jan 1990 10:12:00 -0500 RESOLUTION NO. 21571 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN APPROPRIATION OF FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($5,000.00) FOR A FEASIBILITY STUDY FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF AN ECO-INDUSTRIAL SMART PARK IN THE SOUTHSIDE. WHEREAS, our community seeks to provide national leadership in the establishment of environmentally sound industries; and WHEREAS, a group of area companies has been working to develop a sustainable model for using regional energy, manufacturing, agricultural, and municipal wastes in a more efficient and productive manner; and WHEREAS, the SMART Park concept will demonstrate that industrial recycling of by-products and wastes will reduce operating costs, increase profits, create jobs, and improve the environment; and WHEREAS, the City of Chattanooga has been asked to donate $5,000.00 for a Feasibility Study for a pilot project in the Southside; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, that there be and is hereby authorized an appropriation of $5,000.00 for a Feasibility Study for the establishment of an Eco-Industrial SMART Park in the Southside.
